SOCIAL SUPPORT for citizens are referred as welfare.  A high level of well-being meansin some sense the individual or

group 's  condition is positive, while low well- being is associated with negative happenings. Friends and social contacts on whom you can depend on for support constitute your social  support network.  Some researchers have concluded that having inadequate social support nearly doubles a person’s risk of dying from disease, suicide, or other causes. Protection of the economic and social well-being  is  based on the principles of equality of opportunity, rightful distribution of wealth, and public responsibility for those unable to avail themselves of the minimal necessities for a good life comprising healthcare, education, etc.), as well as individual benefits such as old-age pensions, accident insurance, and medical care.

SOCIAL SECURITY is a concept enshrined in Article 22’’ of the Universal Declaration of

Human Rights, which states:

Everyone, as a member of society, has the right to social security and is entitled to realization, through national effort and international co-operation and in accordance with the organization and resources of each State, of the economic, social and cultural rights indispensable for his dignity and the free development of his personality.

In simple terms, the co-signers agree that society in which a person lives should help them to develop and to make the most of all the advantages which are offered to them in the country. Social security may also refer to the action programs of government intended to promote the welfare of the population through assistance measures guaranteeing access to sufficient resources for food and shelter and to promote health and well-being for the population at large and potentially vulnerable segments such as children, the elderly, the sick and the unemployed. Services providing social security are often called SOCIAL SERVICES.

IOHRP [Welfare Cell] works in contributing to ‘Social Support Network’ by means of

underling objectives:

IOHRP CHILDREN’S LAND [PROTECTION OF CHILDREN]

Serving children is serving God Let us make their Childhood special. The resolution passed by the United Nations General Assembly in 1989 promises children the right to life, liberty, education and protection from discrimination, torture, cruelty, inhuman treatment and punishment. Children are frequently defenceless, many are homeless and are subjected to abuse by police and others. The organization is determined to fight against abuse and exploitation of children and to protect and nature them. They are to be sheltered, fed and educated.

HELPING THE RURAL POOR

Their rights to live is threatened by disease, malnutrition and the plain lack of basics to sustain life. Across all these groups of rural poor, the plight of women is by far the worst. They remain the victims of gender discrimination as its worst.

PROTECTION OF WOMEN’S RIGHTS

The rights of women to a life with dignity is being denied in many sexual abuse, rape, wife battering, forced prostitution cases. Violence against women is widespread. To protect their right is the responsibility of every citizen. There are elaborate systems of laws to protect the rights of women namely Equal Remuneration Act, The prevention of Immoral Traffic Act, Dowry Prevention Act, etc. The Government is often unable to enforce these acts. The organization is to fight for their human rights and is to take steps in the implementation of the above acts.

REHABILITATION OF MENTAL PATIENTS AND MENTALLY RETARDED

Humans are not only influenced by their environment, but through their behaviour they also alter that environment. The altered environment in turn produces subtle changes in the environmental inhabitant and in its behaviours; these behaviours again produce subtle changes in the environment, and so on, indefinitely.
